I knew from an early age that I wanted to work in the caring profession as I'd always been drawn to helping others.

I'd been at school with a young boy who had Downs Syndrome and later my nan had developed multiple sclerosis and needed a lot of help.

Before coming to Harpenden Mencap 16 months ago, I had worked for Care Watch, for a rehabilitation centre, also an activities officer. - Siobhan

Whilst I have been working in the Harpenden Mencap Charity Shop, I have met some lovely people who I get on really well with. We work hard and always have time for a chat and laugh. - Rachel
